Meaning of Five Precepts

Precepts mean the basic fundamental path for
attainning Buddhahood or Enlightment.In other words, taking vows of five precepts prevent
us from performing false actions. Precepts are the fundamental path for the final
liberation from sufferings and emancipation from defilements.
Importance of Five Precepts:
- Profitable-blameless-take (liberate from
lust,delusion and hartred)
- Triple Gem-Buddha-Dharma-Sangha (achieve blessings
and protection)
- Concentration-Meditation –Inspiration (purify impurities minds,thoughts and
defilements)
Repentance:
Feel regret and repent for the sins and falsehood
actions one had performed before.
Go for refuge to the Buddha, the Dharma and the
Sangha.
Accepting Five Precepts:
- No Killing-life which all can take and non can
give.life which all creatures love and strive to keep.It is pleasant. Eliminate desire of
killing and go for refuge to the Teacher, the Teaching and the Taught.
- No Lying-Purify dirty thoughts and mind.
- No Stealing-Not to take the stuffs which do not
belong to self.
- No Sexual Misconduct-Do not perform sex
unconciously before marriage.
- No Intoxication-Taking wine is harmful for health.
Avoid drinking alcoholic stuffs.
Conclusion:
Share the benefits of blessings from Triple Gem,
dieties, protectors,Sakyamuni Buddha, Amitabha Buddha and Future Buddha for all the
sentient beings in six realms.Pray for peace mind, sound health and wealth for all the
sentient beings in this Samsara. The sentient beings in animal, reptile and hell realm may
release from sufferings and gain blessings of Buddha.
